Graphic Tablet

I have always wanted to have a graphic tablet it gives you the freedom of movement(little tricky to use). But it has far more functional used than a Traditional mouse. Now being a techno geek i checked out the specs of may tablets. what specifications to look for. so i thought of sharing here.

The Quality of a Graphic tablet is measured on many Things most important Being

  1. number of pressure sensitive points(Pressure Levels). General rule higher the number the better it is , but for the most common use a graphic tablet with 512 point sensitivity should be enough. But for example you are in to high end graphics design or animation 1024 or above will be good for you
  2. Resolution LPI - Lines Per Inch again for normal use a LPI of 2540 is enough. but the most high end user might want to have 5080 I don't thing there are systems with LPI more than 5080
  3. Active Area - the actual area which can be used. standard sizes include 4x6; 6x8; 6x12; 6x11; 12x12
now which graphic tablet to buy depends on you budget and usage need
if you are just an average user who want some cool thing to play around with then anything within 100$ should be good.
the foremost contender being the Bamboo from Wacom the price vary from site to site but i amazon will be the best bet to get a reasonable price. but there are some option in the same model like just with pen or with both pen and mouse.

there are other models (from different manufactures) also and some with in 50$ but there main drawback being need of battery for the pen.
